DAY 7 of the Pokemon December Challenge. Fire Type.
This one was a bit easier than some because I only like a few Fire type, and most of them are more interesting to me as whatever their second type is (example: Chandelure- Ghost). I like all of Magmar’s family (Magby & Magmortar) but felt like drawing Magmar.
I’ve never actually used Magmar, but one day, maybe I will. I’ve always wanted to, but had another Fire type come along, or a Pokemon with a Fire move.
I like the gijinka head for the most part, but looking at it now, I could’ve done the pigtails and stuff a little better. EH… D:
That said, I’ve kept up for a full week so far. Here’s to next week!
DAY 7 of the Pokemon December Challenge. Fire Type.
DAY 6 of the Pokemon December Challenge. Fighting Type.
This was kinda hard to choose, but kinda not. I do love me some Scraggy. Unlike most of the Pokemon I’ve done on here so far, I never actually had Scraggy as a central part of my team. He may have been on it for a very short time.
Other Fighting bros are Hawlucha and Sawk, both of who HAVE been on my team. The only reason Scraggy beat them is because he’s ridiculous in the anime.
Not my favorite gijinka head, following on from not being a huge fan of my Gardevoir one. Oh well.
A year ago, I sat down one night and drew a bunch of random stuff that came to mind for 3 hours one night, resulting in an image found here.
This is a sequel of sorts. Unlike the original, which was entirely just whatever came to mind, this is more focused on things that are vaguely current or things I was playing recently. It’s still kinda all over the place, but less ‘series’ represented. A lot of the things here take up a lot of space or are represented a lot, but others you may have to look a little harder for.
You can find some Zelda, Pokemon, The Walking Dead, general Nintendo, general Christmas, Luigi, Halo, Bioshock Infinite, Persona, Parasite Eve, TMNT, Game Grumps/Starbomb, Darker Than Black, EarthBound, Borderlands and most importantly a drawing of Danny Wells, the actor who portrayed Luigi on the Super Mario Super Show, who just recently passed away. R.I.P. D:
Also, the girl on the right of Santa is original. I was originally drawing Cortana, and the face came out really cool and I didn’t want to waste it on her, and just made generic clothes (which is also a waste). I am interested in exploring that style.
DAY 5 of the Pokemon December Challenge. Fairy Type.
This one was tough. It was a toss-up between Gardevoir and Slurpuff. Neither of whom I am that good at drawing. I went with Gardevoir because I actually used Gardevoir on my team in Pokemon X.
The gijinka head didn’t give me a lot to work with. Basically, I just drew Gardevoir’s head again. Wasn’t sure how to implement the horn in its chest into the girl head, so I just made her a red nose. This is probably my least favorite of the pictures I’ve done so far. I just don’t feel it came out as good as I was thinking it would. Oh well.
DAY 4 of the Pokemon December Challenge. Electric Type.
I like a few Electric types, specifically Galvantula, Ampharos, Stunfisk, etc, but something about Magnezone. I don’t know if it’s the fact it looks like a flying saucer, the fact the Magnemites from Magneton have merged or what.
Like others on this, Magnezone has been part of my team before.
I really like the gijinka head I did for this one.
DAY 3 of the Pokemon December Challenge. Dragon Type.
This one was hard to choose. I like a lot of much harder to draw ones, like Dragalge. Or ones that would be time consuming because I’m terrible, like Tyrantrum.
Flygon, however, is a bro, so I decided to go with him. I used him in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness & in Pokemon Black 2. No regrets.
I had drawn goggles for the Flygon Gijinka head, but I decided it didn’t look quite right, so I opted out. If I decide I figure out a way to make them look less crappy/have more time, I may add them back in, but on her hair like the previous girls instead of on her face like I drew originally.
DAY 2 of the Pokemon December Challenge. Dark Type.
I chose Pangoro. I like a lot of Dark Types, but I like them more as their other types (like Krookodile for Ground, or Scraggy for Fighting). Pangoro, however, was a real bro on my Pokemon X team, so it seemed like a good idea.
Decided to set this up like the previous one with the little person head. I didn’t want to go the obvious route of using the hat seen in XY, but this didn’t come out as good as the Shedinja girl head. Oh well. Enjoy.
I don’t usually do these, and heck, I may not even complete it due to my usual lack of ambition (but who knows?) but I decided.
Anyway, there seems to be some art meme for favorite Pokemon for all of December. The first challenge is “Favorite Bug Type”.
I didn’t have a whole lot of time today because I was doing other stuff all morning and I’m leaving later today, but I made a quick sketch of one of my favorites, Shedinja.
I have been transporting the same Shedinja from my Pokemon Sapphire version across all generations since (and he’ll be moving to Pokemon X later this month). I don’t even use him exactly, I just always liked the concept and design. I always thought cicada shells were cool, so a Pokemon based on it, to me, was genius.
I actually liked the way the uncolored version came out more than when I colored it, but I kept both. I also felt like drawing a little Shedinja head girl. Not sure if that counts as a gijinka or not.
Other Bug Types I like (and would’ve included if I had more time): Kakuna/Beedrill, Paras/Parasect, Pinsir, Pineco, Skorupi, Sewaddle, Dwebble/Crustle, Escavalier, Joltik/Galvantula, Shelmet, Larvesta, Genesect & Vivillon.
So I got a Wii U for my birthday (Nov.17). My NNID is frothyjazz54.
I already had NSLU back in August (can’t turn down that green box and Nintendo World Store release party), but I got the Zelda Wii U bundle (I also have DuckTales and a few VC releases like EarthBound, but haven’t touched them much yet), so I’ve been taking to the Miiverse with tons of screenshots and drawing pictures to go with them.
Here’s a collection of all of the drawings I made on the Miiverse in November, out of context (without the photos they’re connected to) for Tumblr to enjoy.
The Grimer & Halo pics were drawn on my Activity Feed. Halo was for beating the original Trilogy. Grimer was because, well, Grimer.
This was intended for a podcast, but ultimately didn’t get used this week. It’s also a vague Thanksgiving nothing.
It intentionally does not actually reference Thanksgiving. The idea I had going in was Hyrule having some Turkey-esque Cucco for Thanksgiving dinner and the consequences similar to when you attack Cuccos in-game.
Been playing/replaying a lot of Zelda lately. Specifically, A Link Between Worlds, The Wind Waker HD (Hero Mode) & Oracle of Ages (on 3DS), going back & forth between them.
Also, I made a point to not have this Link stick to any specific style. He’s got colorization from ALBW art, but I gave him elements of Majora’s Mask Link (specifically, the boots and his Razor Sword). Also, he looks like Charlie Brown.
Anyway, happy belated Thanksgiving for those that care, and also, just enjoy some Link/Zelda fanart.
